Illanna

On the fifth night of their hospital vigil, she looked up from her comm tab and found Zane’s heated gaze on her. She silently met it, her heart beating faster.

Their gaze held for a long moment, and they soon forgot the world around them, the desire between them psionically firing up to the consternation of the third wheel in the room.

‘You two get out of here,’ Luka said irritatedly from his bed where he lay watching a holo movie. ‘You’re crowding me.’

Illanna looked away from Zane with some effort and gave her brother a sharp side-eye. ‘Really, Luka?’

‘Really,’ he said with a wicked glint in his eye. ‘You two need to get the fokk out of here. I need some space from all that insane energy between you. I’ll be OK; the nurses in here are wickedly amazing. There’s even one I want to spar with but can’t with yo’ asses in here ruining my game.’

Illanna smiled because, with his words, her brother was giving his blessing.

Zane caught the hint with a quirk of his lips. With a silent jerk of his chin, he thanked Luka.

He rose to his feet and extended his hand to Illanna. She gathered her jacket and bag and as if in a trance, slipped her hand into his and let him guide her out of the hospital room and into the empty corridor.

The tall, powerful Rider didn’t say a word as he led her outside to the parking garage and into his luxurious sports flyer.

The flight back to his penthouse at Sable 517 was a blur.

Once they arrived, he escorted her from the flyer and into the elevator, holding her hand firmly in his heated clasp. The charge between them threatened to floor her at the knees.

He pulled her through the door to his home, then, with no warning, pressed her against the wall, his lips crashing onto hers in a fierce, desperate kiss.

Illanna moaned into his mouth, feeling every nerve in her body come alive under his touch. Her jacket and bag slid to the floor as her arms wrapped around him.

Zane’s hands roamed over her body, pulling her close to devour her with his kisses. She could feel the heat between them building to a fever pitch.

‘I need you, Illanna, and I need you now,’ Zane growled against her lips, his voice rough with desire. ‘Are you OK with this? Ready for this?’

‘Sable, I was born ready,’ Illanna nodded, her desire burning bright. She had never felt this intense need for anyone before.

He moved them down the hallway, their bodies entwined, until they reached his bedroom. Zane kicked the door behind them, his hands tearing at her clothes.

Zane’s hand shot out, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her towards him. Illanna gasped as his lips crashed onto hers, his kiss fierce and possessive. She melted into him, her hands tangling in his hair as he deepened the kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth with a hunger that left her breathless.

Illanna had never experienced anything like this before.
